Equine Assisted Psychotherapy

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a form of animal-assisted therapy using horses. Animals are well-known for their ability to calm and soothe upset people. They are non-judgmental and non-verbal, and can be less threatening for some clients than human therapists. During equine activities, clients learn to observe and respond to horse behavior, which increases self-awareness and provides metaphors for what is happening in their own lives. These non-verbal and energy-focused skills can then translate into the human world quite naturally.
